2 proud piano builders

15.07.2023

In August 2019, we had the pleasure of starting the training of our first apprentices. Nicole Reller and Jasmin Tan followed their love of music and chose the 4-year apprenticeship to become piano builders.

Since the end of June 2023, we knew that this passion was crowned with success, because both girls successfully passed the final exam!
As of 1 August, Nicole & Jasmin are now fully engaged in their professional lives and we are very happy that they have decided to remain loyal to us.

Would you like to know more about Nicole and Jasmin? Then you can find out more here.

We wish them both a lot of fun in this great profession and all the best for their private and professional future.

One weekend in October I started playing the piano (again) ...

27.-29.10.23

Do you, like many other adults, have the dream of being able to play the piano (again) one day? And thought for far too long that it was long too late?

The passionate concert pianist, Jens Schlichting, has specialised in effective teaching methods for adults for almost 3 decades. Why not give piano playing another chance for one weekend in October (27 – 29.10.)? Meet other piano lovers at the adult intensive course and motivate each other. A walk with us in the Zurich Oberland will additionally help with synapse formation ⛰️😊

During this weekend, participants will not only learn a “real” piano piece: they will also take their first steps in improvisation, finally understand how to read music, play by ear and much more! The compact use of time offers little opportunity to forget what has been learned between the individual units. The sound of our high-quality concert instruments is the icing on the cake, so you won’t be able to stop playing 😉

Please smile 2.0

28.06.2021

It’s that time again…
At Piano Sigrist, the spotlights were set up, the make-up was applied and the hair was done.

Together with our team, which has grown considerably, we were once again able to spend a fun afternoon in front of the camera lens.

Thanks again to Céline Schmidt for her excellent work and the fun she always brings.

Click through the pages and see what new faces are smiling back at you.

Farewell greeting & new start

30.12.2020

What a year … 2020 will probably be remembered by all of us for many years to come. But especially Laura & Josias Sigrist.

The young piano makers have now taken the plunge and founded their own company.

As of 01.01.2021, the sole proprietorship Piano Sigrist will fade into the background and the new

Piano Sigrist GmbH

will take over all active parts of the business, with Laura and Josias as managing directors.

What will change for you? Nothing really. We want the usual service to remain for you and you can continue to see us as your “trusted piano shop”.
Beni and Judith Sigrist will also continue to work in the shop.

So, for the first time, we toast a small new beginning and hope to hear from you again in 2021!

Summer greetings

13.07.2020

We hope that you – just like us – can start the summer full of joy.
In the last few months, we have been able to work a lot in our workshop and thus make good use of the Covid-19 time and are now back on the road for you with full vigour.

In the meantime, Corinne Simmen has joined us in our office and we are happy that she is such a great addition to our team.

We wish you and your loved ones all the best – stay healthy, motivated and cheerful! We look forward to welcoming you to our office!

Special guest

24.02.2020

On 24.02.2020 we had the pleasure of welcoming a very special guest to our premises.
Alexey Botvinov spontaneously filled our exhibition and concert room with the most beautiful sounds – and on top of that on the iridescent shining Kawai Crystal Rain…

Fortunately, we were able to “capture” this special moment. See and hear for yourself:

Artistic interaction

20.02.2020

For some months now, we have been in talks with one of the greatest ballet dancers of the Zurich Opera House and finally the time has come: Yen Han has opened her second dance studio in Küsnacht (she has already been working in Witikon for years) and this time on a somewhat larger scale.

We have the great pleasure to support her sonically: at the grand opening on 21./22.2.2020 our SK-6 accompanied the elegant movements with the warmest sounds. For all further performances, the Ballet Production Center has now received their own grand piano from us.

We are happy about this cooperation and hope for many more great and breathtaking events!

Are you also enthusiastic about ballet – then visit the homepage of Yen Han Ballet Productions.

Transformation

11.02.2020

Last year, we had the pleasure of working with Plotteria in our area on a very colourful project. At the customer’s request, we wrapped two Shigeru Kawai VIs in red.

See for yourself exactly how this works:

Bright prospects in 2020

07.01.2020

We wish you a happy and beautiful 2020 with many wonderful and exciting moments….

We hope to support this as we introduce you to the new addition to our showroom:

Kawai Crystal Rain (CR-1M)

This unique instrument from Japan shines in our rooms and fascinates with its unique design and wonderful sound. Equipped with a self-player, recording device and LEDs, the grand piano captivates with its crystal-like facets.

At an exhibition in Milan, the grand piano was declared an art object within the framework of a project, which is why we are all the more pleased that this unique instrument can be heard in our rooms.

Please come and admire the shimmering grand piano!

Visitors from Japan

24.12.2019

Shortly before Christmas, we received technical support from Kawai. Shoe Eitaki and Shinichi Ito, who both work in Japan, supported us with their know-how and their very special concept for our next big project.
The Shigeru technician from Kawai, Arimune Yamamoto, also came to our workshop for a whole day to support us.

What exciting things are we planning…? You will find out in early 2020! We are already looking forward to it.

Please smile!

09.11.2019

To do justice to our constant growth, we got dressed up, put on our best smile and had some new photos taken for our homepage.

Here is a little taste of the wonderful work of Céline Schmidt and soon you will find all the latest pictures on our homepage.

We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

The team grows

08.08.2019

It is always nice to welcome new faces to the company.
In this case, we are happy about a double increase:

Felix Ramming is in our team since the beginning of July and strengthens us mostly in the field service, but is also active in the workshop. The former Steingraeber&Söhne apprentice complements our team with his more than 10 years of experience in field and concert service, his enthusiasm and his urge to always try out new ways and possibilities. We are happy about his cooperation and wish him all the best!

Nicole Reller joins our growing team as Piano Sigrist’s first apprentice. She started her apprenticeship as a piano maker in August and will be trained for the next four years with us in the workshop, for field service and in sales.
With her manual dexterity, musical ability and great motivation, she already has the ideal prerequisites for this profession – we wish her every success and an exciting, instructive and also enjoyable training period!

Trade fair Hinwil

18.06.2019

On the weekend of 14.06.-16.6.2019, together with many other businesses from Tobel in Hadlikon, we were able to present our business and introduce our profession at the Gwerbmäss Hinwil.
It was a great pleasure to see so many new faces and to show people what we have to offer.

We were especially happy about the visit of Mr. and Mrs. Steingreaber, who came all the way from Bayreuth to our stand.

2575

Piano Reloaded at the Tonhalle Maag

27.05.2019

On 23 May 2019, we were able to enjoy a small performance at the Tonhalle Maag for the first time.
Alexey Botvinov enchanted the audience with an unforgettable performance – with a light journey through music as we have not known it before. In keeping with Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Glass and Einaudi, magical impressions were projected onto the white concert grand, bringing the impressive sounds to life.

White concert grand? Yes, you read correctly! Together with a professional foiler from our area, we transformed a black Shigeru Kawai concert grand into a white beauty.

When Music and HiFi meet

11.05.2019

On 11 May 2019, sounds came together in the most diverse ways.
Roland Spalinger, a high-end dealer from Dietlikon, organised a visit to our workshop and showrooms.

The morning was entirely dedicated to the world of pianos, while in the afternoon we were presented with the most diverse variations of sound with hi-fi systems.

Part of our programme was a small sound experiment: five grand pianos, with brand names masked, were played and all listeners had the opportunity to form an unbiased opinion. Which grand piano convinced the most?

Visit us and find out for yourself…

The new Shigeru Kawais arrived!

26.02.2019

The time has come…

Our personally selected Shigeru Kawai grand pianos have arrived and are now filling our showroom with their incomparable sounds.

We have specially selected different sizes so that there is something for everyone:

Visiting Kawai in Krefeld

12.02.2019

On 08.02.2019 we made our way to the Kawai company. Together with our representative Gabriel Steiner, we drove from Düsseldorf to Krefeld to select our new Shigeru Kawai pianos.

After many hours of intensive playing, critical examination and extended discussions, we decided on 4 grand pianos from the Kawai concert line.

We are very much looking forward to hearing them in our own showroom!

2560

Laura Sigrist joins the company

01.02.2019

It has now been almost half a year since Josias Sigrist’s wife Laura joined our team. She enriches our team in the workshop, in sales and also in the office and we are pleased that the family business could be expanded in this way.

We hope that she has now settled in well and wish her continued pleasure in her work!

2596

Josias Sigrist joins the company

01.10.2017

After a long time of planning, the time has finally come! Our son, Josias Sigrist, will enrich our team from 1 October.
With his experience in restoring pianos and grand pianos, he will support us mainly in the workshop. You will also get to know him in customer service at his home or on the phone.

We are looking forward to the coming time and wish Josias all the best in his new job!
