Jasmin Tan

It all started with an inoperable piano at home and my sister who wanted to learn how to play it. That’s how I discovered the profession of piano making and decided to learn it. After 4 turbulent years of training, I graduated as an EFZ piano maker at Piano Sigrist in the summer of 2023.

As curious and adventurous as I am, it was clear from the start that I wanted to go out into the world after my apprenticeship. That’s why I travelled to Japan in spring 2024 and completed the master’s course at piano manufacturer Kawai in Hamamatsu. I summarised everything I experienced there in a short report, which is available on the website. In autumn 2024 I travelled to England. There I attended a language school in Brighton for six months to improve my English and make more international friends.

Now, in March 2025, I am back in Switzerland and motivated to devote my attention to pianos again.
