Piano Maker BDK
Workshop
Field Service

I was born into a family of piano builders, so my love for the piano was instilled in me from birth. My grandfather built keyboard instruments in Bremen, Germany, until the early 1960s, and the family-owned piano business continued beyond that. After completing my training at Grotrian Steinweg in Braunschweig, I worked in the family business for ten years before taking a break for parental leave.
I am the mother of two daughters and, after my parental leave, I initially returned to work part-time in order to balance family and career. Over time, I was able to gradually increase my hours and am now back working full-time.
My responsibilities at Piano Sigrist include repairs in the workshop, tuning upright and grand pianos in the showrooms, and customer appointments in institutions and private households. I am particularly pleased to be able to look after historical instruments. In my free time, I enjoy goldsmithing and restoring old furniture – two creative activities that wonderfully complement my interest in craftsmanship.
